Lynda Sayyah spoke with Global Grind in a Q&A, where the Indianapolis-based singer talked about Whitney Houston and being her favorite artists growing up, her Palestinian father being a really strict Muslim, not haven spoken to her dad in six years, being bankrupt after getting a divorce three year ago, songs she’s written about the strained relationship, ending her marriage after his anger issues, and plans for 2012.

“I still talk to my mom and she told me, even a couple of weeks ago, that cousins from Lebanon are like, ‘Oh, we see Linda doing this and that. She’s wearing this and that. How do you let her do that?’ At some point I wish my dad would be like, ‘Talk about your own kids. Stop talking about my kids’,” Lynda said about her parents.

Pop Artists React To Whitney Houston Death

Several pop artists are sharing their thoughts on Twitter following the news that Whitney Houston had been found unresponsive in her room at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday afternoon and declared dead after paramedics were unsuccessful performing CPR on the singing legend. Houston was 48. Among the Tweets:

shared some behind the scenes moments from her recent video shoot for a Jenny Craig commercial. Carey lost her pregnancy weight after giving birth to twins using the Jenny Craig weight-loss program. The songbird talked about her Lamb Appreciation Day, which is today, and got some love from a Lamb. Simone Battle is out with the music video to her new single ‘He Likes Boys’. The singer failed to be selected by her mentor Simon Cowell on Tuesday night’s ‘X Factor’, performing a cover of ‘Just Be Good to Me’ by earlier.

“First of all, everything was right except your choice in contestant. I still don’t get it. You must be really rich because clearly $5 million doesn’t mean much to you at all,” L.A. Reid sneered to Cowell about bringing Battle this far into the competition. Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were also unimpressed with Simon’s pick.

“Simone, I think all of this is intended to upset you because none of these guys have ever liked you,” Simon told the 22-year-old Los Angeles resident.

Before leaving the show, Battle took the opportunity to promote the music video, drawing a chuckle from Simon. Watch ‘He Likes Boys’ below.

will be releasing his first Christmas album ‘Under The Mistletoe’ on November 1st. The album is a seasonal mix of traditional Christmas standards and newly penned holiday music largely co-written by the Canadian pop singer. ‘Under The Mistletoe’ will be available both as a standard and as a deluxe CD + DVD edition. The deluxe CD edition includes 25 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage plus the video for ‘Pray’, along with four additional holiday songs. The album’s first single ‘Mistletoe’ will be launched worldwide on October 18th and the accompanying video was shot last week in Franklin, Tennessee by Roman White, who also directed Justin’s ‘One Less Lonely Girl’ video.

‘Mistletoe’ was written and produced by the hit making Canadian duo known as The Messengers (Nasri and Adam Messinger). The Messengers first wrote and produced Justin’s chart-dominating hit of early 2011, ‘Never Say Never’, title track off his hit concert film, ‘Never Say Never’. In addition to ‘Mistletoe’, the Messengers wrote and produced the songs ‘Christmas Love’ and ‘Home For Christmas’, featuring The Band Perry. The album was Produced by Chris Hicks and Kuk Harrell.
