A Lesson To Backstreet Boys Fans: Now What?

Contributed Anonymously:

First off, I am not biased for carbon copy bands like *NSYNC and 98 Degrees. I think repeating a 3 letter word 3 times is plain satanic and the name “*NSYNC” suits their fashion styles: dumb. As for 98 degrees….well, the last time I checked, it was “98 degrees of Nick Lachey Singing All the Damn Time”.

Anyways, some of you said that they’ll be number one WAY before the due date was out. Even the popdirt poll said that they’ll have over 500k albums sold. Hell, even with Coldplay and the Foo fighters putting out albums the same week, and the fact that BSB was an outgrown trend, some of you STILL bitched about how they will be #1.

Incomplete is only an unexpected success. No one expected them to be in the top 20 (however some of you actually thought that it would be #1………HA). Not to mention the fact that Incomplete only gained a lot in SALES. Was it due to the song being good? Wrong-o! The fans just wanted to support their group by buying or legally DL-ing it. They received an unexpected less than normal radio play (for a group who almost broke the top 10) which really asks the question: Do people really like the song?

Even more, Never Gone was #3 in last week’s sales. Who beat them? The well deserving Foo Fighters and Coldplay. Oh yeah, and not to mention their #7 this week.

Now you petty little gamblers have to face defeat and are playing diplomats and making excuses why they aren’t #1. It’s kind of like when *NSYNC broke BSB’s Millennium record and when their singles including “the call” didn’t even make the top 50. The excuse was something totally catastrophic. It has nothing to do with people downloading it or the fact that their slow sellers, people just aren’t interested. And please, don’t even put that at-least-they-did-good-in-Paraguay crap. US is the media mogul of the world, not to mention BSB are from here; don’t act like US is second to Germany or even Canada when it comes to sales.

So the lesson to BSB fans is not to hang on to pushing 30 something men like a kid to a shining star, but to realize acting like a total moron can and will bite you in the ass sooner or later.

This is ridiculous. Why don’t you just post with your username? You sound like someone I just talked to. Either that or all you haters think alike. Some of you are broken records – saying the same crap over again. Not every BSB fan said they would be number one. I never did. I said it would be awesome if they were, but I didn’t know what would happen. They have done great so far. They might not be number one in U.S like they were five years ago, but they are still holding there own. Other countries do matter as much as the United States does. And honestly, it’s WAY too early for anyone to tell how well the album will sell. And just so you know, in total sales, Black and Blue sold more than Millennium. Both of them were huge and successful. As for the whole Nsync thing, the BSB still sold more concert tickets that year. But whatever. This isn’t about Nsync. I’m not comparing them anymore because it’s childish.

generalizing and stereotyping is bad for your health. so is obsession and infatuation’, ‘whoa nellyyyy i can’t take anyone seriously who: 1st off has flat out crappy grammar and punctuality. you don’t have to type like an English professor. hell, i don’t. but at least know the difference between ‘their’ and ‘they’re’. you sound like a moron. and no one believes a moron. oh wait..you’re American? okay, i take that back. Secondly, either find out what you’re talking about, or be freakin quiet. simple as pie, baby. ‘the call’ wasn’t even off of the album you were speaking of. so stop bringing irrelevant arguments into an already irrelevant topic. third, stop being such an ignorant, arrogant fool. i know it’s hard for you. i don’t blame you or your parents. i blame your culture and society. but g-damn. it’s pathetic. i’ll definitely take you seriously once you pass eng. class, graduate high school, and become a more mature human being. until then, you seem to have a lot of time on your hands..take up an extracurricular hobby. and, meh.

So what if they did not get to number one. It still doesn’t take away from the fact that they put a good effort together in this cd. I am still very proud to be a Bsb fan. You act as if people like me were just fans because they were making number one records that’s bulls-. I will be a fan even if all they sell is 500 or even 5 records its not the record sales I am a fan of its the group stupid. Grow up and get a fawking life already you are the one talking all this shiznit about them all on their jock straps. You are not only on Bsb’s jock straps but on the fans jock straps too who is really the moron. I hope that bit you in the ass.

Wow it’s amazing how someone would spend so much time on a group they supposedly don’t like……lol….. As for BSB fans being morons, Its obvious the author doesn’t realize he/she comes across as being the biggest moron wasting time on artist he/she doesn’t like…wow

Even though I’ve already made a comment, I’m going to add this in. For those of you who agree with this person, this is what you need to do: First join a group, get a record deal, and stay a group for 12 years. During that time you have to have one of the highest debut albums ever in America. Then have to sell over 1 million copies first week in one country alone with your second album. Then sell over 5 million albums with your third album first week world wide. Then take a five year break and have a top 10 hit in over 23 countries. Meanwhile staying the most successful group of the last 15 years. Once you’ve achieved what the Backstreet Boys have, you can talk all you want.

isn’t the world great, we all have different taste. What isn’t good to you is good to’, ‘others. I hate heavy metal and rap, others like it…..BSB still have fans and they aren’t going anywhere fast. If Britney and Madonna can make it gawd I know BSB will be around for a long time if they choose to keep selling records.

  7. Smile says:

Have you heard the new BSB album, RadioFreeRoscoe…’, ‘People who claim not to like the album don’t seem to want to answer that question. If you don’t like it, fine, but at least hear it. It’s hard to know if it’s good or not if you don’t give it a chance.

  8. jazzprofounder says:

lol, i agree, but what was up with “you’re american? okay, i take that back”? I don’t really see what the person being an american has anything to do with their bad grammar and spelling skills. That’s not America’s fault, it’s just the person’s fault for not paying attention in their english class and for not learning how to use the power of the dictionary lol.

You spend way too much time focusing on album sales. First of all, if you haven’t listened to the album for yourself, and not even a fan, then why do you bother? It’s like people nowadays can’t just take the album for what it is without concentrating on the record sales as the main thing. You either liked the album or you didn’t, don’t need to write a whole freakin’ essay to make your point about how much you dislike BSB or their new album, or the fans. The lesson that YOU need is how to spell and use proper grammar, because apparently you need them.

I generally stay away from BSB bashing on this site, but I couldn’t help but respond to the lack lustering thought out essay that was written. I find it amusing how some people who will be so quick to point out the failures of another music group, particularly BSB. However, the humorous part of it all is that the BSB album has not been a failure. If you call a group, especially a pop group (boy band) that has been out of the music scene for five years after netting a #3 spot its first week in the top 10, and then, still remaining in the top 10 at #7 as a failure…well, I’d really hate to see what you consider consider a success??? There’s something to be said regardless of any group that has been away from music for five years debuting in the top 5, even top 10.

  10. CaliEm says:

backstreet boys fan will and always have supported them. #3 is a lot better than #50 and for coming back from so long and coming back to a new fan base and into the music industry that’s totally changed today, #3 is not bad and #7 this week isn’t bad either. look more behind the facts before u post stupid stuff
