A Mariah Carey Mess

KMSP Fox 9 News reports that a grandmother to a 10-year-old fan named Michelle Katz sent out an e-mail to Mariah Carey’s official website requesting that the singer meet her granddaughter before her concert in St. Paul was cancelled. Dee Hofland says she got a response back saying, “Miss with all due respect, I have my own problems. i have no time to accommodate everyone else’s. My sister is suffering HIV right now. Is anyone worried about my problems? Some people can be so damn selfish. Next time you email me with any requests, you will be reported. Have a great day!” m.c. A rep for Island Records says they’ll try to track down what happened, though doubted it actually came from Mariah.
