Teen Scene magazine chatted with Aaron Carter about the looming album battle between his brother and Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and rival Justin Timberlake of *NSYNC. Asked about ‘Now or Never’, Aaron commented, “I love all the songs. Nick is an amazing singer. I look up to him. He is great! He isn’t going to be a flop. And I’m 99.9% sure that he will kick Justin Timberlake’s butt.” Asked if Nick is feeling some pressure to win the stand-off with Timberlake, Aaron said, “Well he really isn’t even considered competition. Nick is a much more talented performer. *NSYNC wanted to be like Backstreet Boys. Now every time my brother (Nick) does something Justin Timberlake is always following him. Basically Justin is just following in his footsteps. Nick has wanted to be solo for four or five years now and then Justin heard about it and figured he had to try it too.”

Timberlake Drank A Lot Before VMA Performance
September 18, 2002 – Rolling Stone magazine reports that Justin was nervous before his debut solo performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, so he spent the night before the show partying at Lot 61, at one point with Christina Aguilera. Timberlake explained, “I’m performing, so I have to get loose. I’m gonna drink a lot!”
Justin Timberlake Admits Dating Is Weird For Him
September 18, 2002 – MuchMusic spoke with Justin and asked him if he was single. “My status. I am single, I’m dating around,” said Justin. When asked how the whole dating thing was going, Justin replied, “It’s different because I don’t date, it’s really tricky. It’s hard enough being spotted everywhere by yourself and people writing about it. The whole dating thing to me is weird.”
Justin Timberlake Says Women Are More Advanced Than Men
September 17, 2002 – The Telegraph interviewed Justin, who talked about his new album and the respect he has for the opposite sex. “There’s so many things in this life that women go through that men will never experience, like childbirth. The whole process, that a woman can carry something around inside of her for almost a year, that’s raw,” he says. “I find it incredible and awesome. So I think women must be more advanced than men. I just have the utmost respect for them.” Then, jokingly, he adds: “Of course, I’ve met some women whom I’ve felt more mature than, but I’m not naming names.”
As for the breakup with Britney Spears, Justin commented, “The break-up was absolutely heartbreaking for me. I can’t just have meaningless relationships with women. I have to find Miss Right in order to have a relationship. There’s got to be that big moment when she comes along…”
Pop Stars Deserve A Love Life
September 17, 2002 – Popdirt.com’s latest poll asking if you become less of a fan if you discover a pop star you’re attracted to is dating someone had most saying no, and that they deserve to have a love life. 77.8% said no, while 14.6% said they should remain single to retain a personal fantasy. 7.7% weren’t attracted to any pop star.
