Joan Anderman of the Boston Globe reviewed John Mayer’s show at the FleetBoston Pavilion on Wednesday night. Anderman writes, “While the adoring throngs thrilled to Mayer’s pretty songs, pretty face, and charmingly boyish personality, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter proved that he knows his way around jazzy guitar changes and blues vamps. He’s by no means an exceptional instrumentalist, but Mayer’s got chops, and he earned his extended solos with clean, searing lines descended from Stevie Ray Vaughan.”
