Following last night’s cancellation of the Christina Aguilera and *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake concert in Atlantic City, Aguilera’s mother Shelly Kearns responded to a fan’s e-mail wondering what happened. “We are all a bit shaken up and so grateful to God right now,” Kearns said. “What happened wasn’t that the stage collapsed at all. It’s an old venue and a roof beam snapped sending all the rigs & lights as well crashing down to the stage. Only 3 people had relatively minor injuries (considering!), but it was literally minutes before like 50 of our crew would have been on that stage working. The set was smashed and we truly don’t know how long it will take to replace things & get back on the road again, but right now our focus is on how grateful we feel. Had it been just a few moments later… or even a couple of hours later, there would have been casualties. God has blessed everyone there & there were no fatalities and no serious injuries, Thank God.”
