Ahead of Sunday night’s Juno Awards in Canada, Alanis Morissette tells the Ottawa Sun she finds the whole concept of the awards show weird. “The only thing I think is so brilliant about these shows is that it brings all these magnificently expressive people into one room, which is the ultimate,” she said. “But in terms of having to do that in the context of it being competition, my sphincter tightens when I hear that.” Meanwhile, Morissette says she’s been writing and plans to head into the studio this month to start going over the material she’s gathered for her next album.
