Alanis Morissette Not Motivated By Record Sales

Chart Attack spoke with Alanis Morissette about her chart topping opening week with ‘Under Rug Swept.’ The singer said, “I haven’t checked the sales. I was in a record store today, and they said ‘So, what are the numbers?’ and I was like, ‘I don’t know, you tell me.’ But, do I want to share it with as many people as possible? Absolutely, I’d love to, but at the same time, it’s not something that I’m motivated by. I think I consider my records a success as soon as I’m finished and as soon as they truly represent that period of my life.” Read more.
