All Avril Lavigne’s Songs Are Autobiographical
Contributed anonymously: YM talked to Avril Lavigne and asked her if she made up the songs or if they came from real life. “They’re all autobiographical,” she said. “People think I’m told to write about certain things, but my songs are about what’s on my mind at the time. I wrote the songs for ‘Under My Skin’ when I was 17 and had just finished high school. I never trusted guys, and ‘Don’t Tell Me’ talks about that, because it was still fresh in my head how guys try to get with girls at parties. ‘My Happy Ending’ explains how hard things are after a breakup because of all the memories.”

November 13, 2004 – Contributed anonymously: According to YM, Avril Lavigne has to let everything out once in a while. “I cry,” she admitted. “It doesn’t happen very often, but if I’m super busy and have had too many interviews, I let everything out. I hate being on camera all day, because it means I have to get dressed, get my hair fixed, put on make-up, and talk about myself to strangers. It’s the most tiring thing. But I don’t want to go into complaining mode, because I have so much to be thankful for. When I start to get like that, I think, ‘What are you doing? Look at your life and the stuff you get to do.’ I love making my records, being on the tour bus, playing shows- there’s no feeling like being onstage and singing. But even I’m entitled to cry sometimes.”

I doubt the guys were trying to get with Avril. The type of guys Avril is referring to only want girls that put themselves out there. Avril may be foulmouthed, but she isn’t someone who puts herself out like that.

Everyone knows that her songs are for real! And yes they are SO Autobiographical…Can’t you people just let her live without commenting badly about her? God! And do you people not understand what CO-WRITING MEANS!?
Avril nobody thinks you are told what to write, everybody know you DON’T write your songs. And I love “I wrote my songs when I was 17 fresh out of high school” no you didn’t. You dropped out of high school at 16 idiot. Even your own song writers will back me up on your lack of writing. Liar. Writing a single word in a cheesy simple pop song, doesn’t make you a writer.
Um no she isn’t cool. She lies about who she is, that she plays guitar , that’s she writes her songs and everything in between. How about you keep your opinions to YOURSELF rather than telling other people to do so. If you have a right to state your warped teenybopper opinion of her than so does everyone else.
She doesn’t write her songs. Her songwriters want to make profit off her image so they write these teen anthems that are not different than any other cheesy pop song, and she writes a word on it and says she has input on it. Its not hard to write her songs, they look like they are written by high school kids on purpose. So that it will attack idiots like you who think “wow she is like me”. They know what they are doing when they write songs. They write it from a dumb teenage girls perspective, Avril fixes a line and thinks she had something to do with it. Don’t believe me, ask her songwriters the matrix. They’ll say the same thing.
Hiya, Avril I just have to say I’m your number 1 fan, I know the words to most your songs, doing my school project on you, have your album and buy magazines just because your in them, that’s how crazy I am about you!!! Sounds dumb I know but so true, ask my mum!!! lol, love ya mwah xxx
