A&M Records put out a warm press release today after Vanessa Carlton’s ‘Be Not Nobody’ entered onto The Billboard 200 album chart at #5, selling 101,941 copies its first week out. Ron Fair, producer of ‘Be Not Nobody’ and President of A&M Records praised, “From the moment we finished Vanessa’s album, we believed it was extraordinary. Yes, she was an unknown artist but everyone along the way, from Jimmy Iovine (Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M) to MTV to radio to the online community, greeted ‘A Thousand Miles’ and then the album with the same reaction — they fell in love with an artist who’s both classic and fresh, timely and timeless. Every now and then, you get an old-fashioned organic hit record.”
