“We don’t want to be seen as jumping on any bandwagon whatsoever associated with his death,” she said in regards to being respectful of the King of Pop. “Obviously there has been a renewed interest in the catalog, which has been phenomenal. It just goes to show what an incredible artist he is to have that kind of impact still some 20, 30 years after he’s making records to still be able to command the sales and I think he’s got four records in the top ten.”
While not immediately coming out with new music from Michael, the material he has recorded will eventually see the light of day. “The appetite is definitely there for Michael Jackson. The new material, I have no idea when it will come out. It will come out on Sony/Epic,” Ghost said. “Again we haven’t made any decisions because we just want to let the dust settle and be really respectful to his memory really and not to be seen in any way trying to cash in. If we do release anything of unreleased material, it has to be fantastic and it can’t damage in any way his legacy or his legend, and I won’t let that happen to Epic, because we have to be respectful to the artist as well as the man.”
