AMAs Presenting Annie Lennox With Award Of Merit
Annie Lennox’s blog at MySpace announced that the American Music Awards on Tuesday confirmed that this year’s special Award Of Merit is going to be presented to the Eurythmics singer, who will also perform at the event. Previous honorees to receive this award include: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, James Brown, Neil Diamond and Gloria Estefan.
“We are delighted to honor Annie Lennox at this year’s AMAs. Through her work with the groundbreaking Eurythmics to her solo career, Annie has always been at the forefront of music. She is a truly exceptional artist,” said AMA Producer Larry Klein.
The AMA’s will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday, November 23 (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC.
