MTV News caught up with the ‘American Idol’ finalists at the show’s final 12 party. Simon Cowell joked, “Sanjaya [Malakar] to win. What an extraordinarily great singer!” Malakar admitted, “I just have to pick songs I can put a lot of energy and personality into.” Another of the 12 on the bubble was Haley Scarnato, who said of the judges’ criticisms: “There’s only so much camera time you get onstage, so it’s tough When Simon makes comments to me, if I can use it I will definitely use it.
