Eric R. Danton of the Hartford Courant reviewed the ‘American Idol’ Live concert at Hartford Civic Center on Friday night. Danton said with a little sarcasm, “Oh, and there was Clay Aiken. Maybe he didn’t quite win the competition on the TV show, but plenty of people think he’s their idol, and they had hand-lettered signs saying so. He sang ‘This is the Night,’ which was a little weird because he, like, wrote it. That seems like a lot more work than just singing someone else’s words. Either way, people cheered and cheered for him.”
