Frank Scheck of the Hollywood Reporter was on hand for the American Idols Live tour stop at New Jersey’s Continental Airlines Arena Thursday night (July 13), where nine of the ten finalists, minus Katharine McPhee, performed. Scheck writes, “Unfortunately, the results resembled nothing less than highly accomplished karaoke, with precious little individualism on display. Performing overly familiar numbers by the likes of Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Elvis, etc., the performers provided little in the way of original interpretations.”
