Ollison of The Baltimore Sun weighed in on some of the worst music from 2003, including offerings from ‘American Idol’ stars Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson, and Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees. On Moore’s ‘Coverage’, he remarked, “The result isn’t awful, but the project is completely unnecessary because Moore, who is in no way a stylist, does nothing fresh with the evergreens.” As for Simpson’s ‘In This Skin’, he says, “She’s not a bad singer, by the way. I agree with although, even though I do like Kelly and Jessica. They just didn’t have any good producers to work with. And “In the Zone” is definitely in my top 3 album of the year. SO GOOD!
