An Aggressive Streak Of Pink

Jim Farber of the New York Daily News caught up with Pink to talk about her new album ‘Try This’, defiant record, roiling with humor and pluck and a departure from her previous effort ‘Missundaztood’. “When I was making this record I had a lot of attitude,” she said. “It came out because at first, I didn’t want to make another album so soon after the last one [which arrived precisely two years ago]. I thought, ‘I want to live another 20 years, so I have something to write about.’” Part of that attitude came out thanks to Tim Armstrong of Rancid. “I needed new blood,” the singer says. “And Tim’s an underdog, just like Linda [Perry] was an underdog. Now she’s too busy for me.”
