Annie Lennox AMA Award Of Merit Acceptance Speech
Annie Lennox was presented with the Award of Merit at the 2008 American Music Awards on Sunday night at Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. “It’s been an incredible journey – music, my friends, my accompaniment through my life, so much of my life,” the singer and activist told the audience upon accepting the honor. “Much of that was with Dave Stewart, of the Eurythmics and it is very important that I say half of the award goes to Dave also. Thank you so much for this. I never thought that I would live to see the day that I could be 53-years-old, standing on the stage and so many people have inspired me in this experience and too many to mention.”
