Another Lawsuit Against Super Bowl Halftime Show

According to E! Online, Utah attorney Eric Stephenson has filed a suit against Viacom in small claims court for Janet Jackson’s naked breast shot at the Super Bowl halftime show. Stephenson claims that Viacom used false advertising with regards to the content of the halftime show to lure him and other unsuspecting victims to watch. “Various companies owned and controlled by Viacom deceptively advertised the content and quality of a family-oriented show known as the Super Bowl,” Stephenson said in court documents. “Viacom advertised the show for general audiences, but instead it contained inappropriate, lewd, offensive, violent and degrading adult content.” Stephenson is seeking $5,000–the maximum amount allowed in small claims court. A lawyer for Viacom was dismissive of the suit, saying it had no legal merit and would almost certainly be tossed out, should it ever make to court.
