Archdiocese Stops Ashlee Simpson From Performing

William Maestri, Archdiocese of New Orleans, stopped Ashlee Simpson from giving free concerts at two Louisiana Catholic high schools that won a Clear Channel contest due to insurance and security costs. “We have a serious objection to that,” Maestri says. “The merits of Ashlee Simpson’s music is another issue altogether, and one I am not competent to comment on.”
