Anonymous writes "Recently, the bulk of popdirt news has been centered around Britney. Britney magazine covers, Britney sightings, Britney's sexual explorations, and a little about her "music." But really, besides a few catchy beats, seductive breathing and whispering, and most recently, an oversexed, overaged pop icon - what has Britney really offered in terms of music?

She gets hype over the moves she makes outside of what she was set out to do in the first place -- and that's to sing. But in the past 4 or 5 years, she has yet to prove that she has that talent. Yes, she has proven that she knows how to get attention. But kissing Madonna, Colin Farrell, and Fred Durst... well that's not exactly what she gets paid for. Or at least it shouldn't be.

If she wants to expose her body, then more power to her, but it seems that she wants to be a model and not a singer. Why doesn't she put some of that effort into perfecting (or better yet, finding) her vocal ability? She can go learn to play an instrument; write a song; find some kind of creative voice. She's been given the opportunity of a lifetime, but instead of trying to make it happen, her and her "people" just want their radio spins and to make people's heads turn.

Perhaps if she offered something a bit more surprising in the form of a well sung ballad maybe, she wouldn't have to kiss her mother to sell a record."
