Nick Lachey On TRL
98 Degrees star Nick Lachey stopped by MTV’s Total Request Live on Friday to promote his new album ‘SoulO’ and a second season of the MTV hit ‘Newlyweds’ featuring wife Jessica Simpson. Read on for a transcript.
TRL: He has a new album, he’s got a new wife, give it up for our pal
nick lachey. Nick?
[ Cheers and applause ] How are you?
TRL: Hey, how you doing? How you doing? Good to see you. You know what?
Let’s put you in the middle. A nick sandwich. “Newlyweds” is a hit show.
Damien?
Nick: Keep going.
TRL: You got picked up for a second season which will be great. I have
to know — your other part, jessica, we see her on the cover of “rolling
stone” and she’s holding a mop. Is that first time?
Nick: That was the first documented time that jessica has ever held
a mop. Ever. Ever. That was the first time. You know what? She is the housewife
of the year all the same.
TRL: She’s lucky!
Nick: Thank you.
TRL: You’re lucky too. Doing the solo thing right now.
Nick: Yeah. Very excited.
TRL: Hits stores on tuesday. What’s it like just going into the studio
by yourself and making a solo album? You’re not used to that.
Nick: I like recording with the guys better, but I’m still so excited.
And thank you to those who got it. Pretty exciting stuff.
TRL: How is the sound different from 98 degrees?
Nick: I think the ballads is more 98 degrees, but the other is more
edgier vocally.
