Ashlee Simpson Loses Her Pants At Jingle Ball

Ashlee Simpson sang at her first Jingle Ball on Friday (December 10) at Madison Square Garden in New York City, telling ‘Extra’, “This is actually the first time that I get to perform, so it’s pretty exciting!” Ashlee was so excited, in fact, that her pants fell down as she was jumping around onstage.

Ashlee Simpson’s Silence Before Singing

An organizer of Ashlee Simpson’s AOL Music Live concert at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles tells The New York Post that the singer “did not speak for hours before her performance to help save her voice.” The Post added that Ashlee will join boyfriend Ryan Cabrera on a tropical vacation to bring in the New Year with sister Jessica Simpson and her hubby Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees.

Ashlee Simpson Wins Billboard’s New Female Artist Of The Year

Ashlee Simpson took home Billboard’s New Female Artist of The Year award last night, beating out Jojo, Gretchen Wilson, and Ciara. Simpson said upon accepting the honor: “Wow! I am so, so very excited. Ok. First and foremost, I want to thank my fans out there. Thank you so much for your support. It means the world to me. Thank you, everybody, out there who bought my CD. Daddy, I love you so much. Jimmy, Paul, Anthony, everybody at radio for playing my music. Mommy, my sister Jessica, who I love dearly. Once again, my fans. MTV. Thank you very much. Oh, and one more thing, if you’re ever feeling nervous or you’re making a fool of yourself, have a little trick. It’s called the Texas jig. Yes. Thank you very much.”

Lol she must have read my post when I said she’s lucky her boobs didn’t pop out and her pants didn’t fall down. She must have said hey that’s something I can add along with my ho down dance lmao.

She was also booed by the audience — not by everyone, but there were plenty of boos. And this award is meaningless; it’s just based on sales, not talent or industry respect. Her joke wasn’t funny, and the boos were louder.

Did anyone else notice how horribly put together the whole show was? My roommate and I were watching it and couldn’t believe how unorganized and second-rate it was. First of all, the Suchin Pak and Lala thing wasn’t funny at all. Suchin dresses well and doesn’t act ditzy at all, so I have no idea what that was based on. The other skits weren’t funny either. All the jokes were obvious and poorly executed (a gay clay aiken joke and a jab at Jessica and Nick divorcing? How original!) Also, they kept losing audio and all the presenters seemed to have no idea what was going on and/or couldn’t read the teleprompter. It was such a waste of time.

Well, that’s good. Congrats Ashlee and that’s a shame people booed her lol. I wouldn’t mind seeing that though :P Congrats to Britney for winning an award as well!

My least favorite part of the show was having presenters introduce presenters. For example, Jenny McCarthy introducing Motley Crue to present an award, and I forgot who introduced Maroon 5 when they were going to present etc…I just don’t get the point of all that. The performances were pretty good though.

I think it’s sad. People need to have a little more respect. She had a sore throat that day and I think most artists would have done the same thing with back-up tracks. Plus I don’t understand why it was such a huge deal with Ashlee. The same thing happened to Lindsay Lohan the other morning on Good Morning America, and no one is giving her grief about that.

Did anyone noticed that Amy Lee from Evanescence was faking playing the piano, which, in fact, was an electronic piano that was installed in a hollow Grand piano shell? It was not visible from the audience point of view but when the camera was behind her back, it was obvious! Her finger movements didn’t match the music and it is easier to fake it on the electronic piano because the sound can be turned of…what a fake!

I think I heard her getting booed also, and I think she may have already known that she was going to win because her speech sounded very rehearsed, especially the end with the “jig”. it seemed like she knew she was going to do that before she even got up there. otherwise I don’t think she would have done it with the negative response from the audience. they were clearly booing her because of the incident on snl and that “jig” was an obvious reference to that. I’m looking forward to seeing recaps of the show to see if they mention it, and possibly replay it to see if there really were boos. it was kinda hard to tell since there was also some cheering as well.
