Ashlee Simpson performed a free concert in Boston, Massachusetts on July 17th. Her set was phenominal. She was a spectacular live singer and even more entertaining in person than her older sister, Jessica. She was engaged in sweet and funny conversations with the audience in between her amazingly funky, new material. At one point she mentioned her ex-boyfriend, Josh, and how she wrote an angry song about him. The crowd (most of which had seen her MTV show) booed at the simple mention of his name. She just giggled and agreed. It was mine and anyone elses opinion in that crowd that she isn’t just a “flash-in-the-pan” artist and certainly NOT just “Jessica’s little sister”.
