Dan Aquilante of the New York Post caught up with Ashlee Simpson for a Q&A and asked how her ‘SNL’ lip-synching disaster affected her as a person and a singer. “I’m a stronger person now,” Simpson responded. “My band and my fans have stuck by me. It was a horrible thing that happened. It was extremely embarrassing, but I’m not embarrassed by it anymore. I’ve even laughed about it a couple of times.” The much-maligned singer added, “I don’t really care what the critics say. All that matters is what my fans think.
