Ashlee Simpson Wins Billboard’s New Female Artist Of The Year

Ashlee Simpson took home Billboard’s New Female Artist of The Year award last night, beating out Jojo, Gretchen Wilson, and Ciara. Simpson said upon accepting the honor: “Wow! I am so, so very excited. Ok. First and foremost, I want to thank my fans out there. Thank you so much for your support. It means the world to me. Thank you, everybody, out there who bought my CD. Daddy, I love you so much. Jimmy, Paul, Anthony, everybody at radio for playing my music. Mommy, my sister Jessica, who I love dearly. Once again, my fans. MTV. Thank you very much. Oh, and one more thing, if you’re ever feeling nerveous or you’re making a fool of yourself, have a little trick. It’s called the Texas jig. Yes. Thank you very much.”
