Ashlee Simpson’s Catchy, But Needs Seasoning

USA Today music critic Edna Gundersen took part in an online chat on Tuesday, sharing her opinion on Ashlee Simpson. “‘Pieces of Me’ is actually kind of catchy, but I’m not ready to anoint Ashlee the next Avril Lavigne,” Gundersen said. “I think she needs a little seasoning.” Another reader hoped Ashlee’s “catchy” single would get overplayed so they could get sick of it. “I’m sure you’re right.
