Ashlee Simpson’s father Joe spoke with MTV News about her sophomore album ‘In Another Life’, due October 18th. Joe says even if her songs have grown up a bit, fans shouldn’t worry that Ashlee’s ventured too deep into singer/songwriter territory. “They’re going to love this record because it’s more of the same,” he promised, noting that she’s working with the same team again, including producer John Shanks and songwriter Kara DioGuardi. “They are all three writing, and I would say we are 98 percent done. There will be some tweaks that we got to do to get the vocals just right, but we’re basically done. She’s got some great rock songs.” Read more.

Ashlee’s dad seems pretty creepy. I am SO glad he is not my dad!!!! We should probs feel sorry for Ashlee and jess haha
While Yes, I agree that Joe is the freakiest father I have ever heard of. I think alot of the things he says are planned and very well thought out…..What alot of people don’t know is that he has been trying to get a mtv show since Jessica’s got on tv, but MTV keeps saying no. So you have to wonder if he is just saying this stuff to make people wonder about him and to get MTV to say “sure, he’s odd, lets give him a show”…
Why would we care about a father/manager’s review of his own daughter/client? It’s not like he’s going to say it sucks.
Saying they still have to tweak the vocals was an unfortunate choice of words.
Okay I know that Jo is the manager of his kids, but now it’s just getting annoying that he’s always in the spotlight and speaking for his daughters all the time while they should be the one promoting their albums or what not.
Joe Simpson seems to have an endless supply of ugly striped shirts.
Her first album was so good I am excited to hear this one but also I’m not sure if it will be better.
