Ashlee Simpson’s Long And Fun Process To #1 Debut

The New York Daily News spoke with Ashlee Simpson on news that her debut album, ‘Autobiography’ is going to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, a mark her sister Jessica Simpson has yet to attain. “It’s insane,” Ashlee says of the record’s opening week sales. “It’s been a long, fun process. But it’s not a comparison [to Jessica] or anything like that.” Ashlee attributes her following to changing trends in teen taste from bubble gum pop to a mix of pop and punk. “”Kids are a lot smarter than people sometimes think that they are,” Ashlee explained. “More teenagers get you if you’re just being yourself and being real. I never worried about if it was going to look or sound good on camera.”
