A former classmate of Avril Lavigne at Napanee District Secondary School dished on the singer to The Sun. “Avril wore jeans and woolly jumpers and was quite shy and worked hard. She used to sing country music and wasn’t cool,” the classmate said. “But then she began hanging around with the skater kids and started dressing in thug clothes. I suppose the real her was just dying to break out of the small town mentality.”
