The Canadian Press spoke with Avril Lavigne after her big wins at the Juno Awards in Ottawa over the weekend. Asked whether she thinks her popularity amongst teens will soon wane like that of Britney Spears, she said, rolling her eyes, “They can think what they want to think cuz they think all kinds of things. I’m here and I’m independent, doing what I wanna do, the things I gotta do.”
