According to TMZ, Avril Lavigne has made it official, filing for divorce from Deryck Whibley, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Avril says in court documents the couple have been separated since September 4th. The Canadian pop rock singer won’t be asking for spousal support, and indicated in the filing she doesn’t want to have to pay the Sum 41 frontman any money.
Lavigne confirmed on her official site on September 18th that she and Deryck had separated, telling fans, “I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. He is the most amazing person I know, and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note.”
