The Kingston Whig-Standard reports Avril Lavigne told one reporter all young people should follow their dreams following her big weekend at the Juno Awards, where she took home four Junos including album of the year. “If you really believe in yourself, and believe that this is what you’re supposed to be doing, go full speed and just, like, sing as much as you can and get out there and perform as much as you can and try to be heard,” she said. Prime Minister Jean Chretien also was full of praise for Avril. “I listened to some of her songs this morning,” he said. “It’s a new music for the young people. I’m not very knowledgeable about it but she’s a fabulous success and when I saw her, she’s so young it’s unbelievable.”
