Joan Anderman of the Boston Globe reviewed the 23d annual KISS Concert on Saturday at the Tweeter Center. Anderman says that Avril Lavigne “outshone contemporaries Branch and Carlton (both of whom seemed like deer caught in the headlights of a massive tour bus) with a pocketful of original, bristling pop tunes.” In the end, Shakira’s “surprisingly warm stage presence” wasn’t enough to keep fans from filing out of the show.
