Avril Lavigne Talks With Aftonbladet TV
Aftonbladet TV caught up with Avril Lavigne, asking the singer about being in Sweden, how she’s changed since her breakthrough at 17, and what girl power is to her.
Asked how she’s changed since entering the music biz as a teen, Avril said, “I’ve grown a lot and I feel I’ve learned a lot and experienced a lot, so with each record, I get more involved. I’m a girl who knows what I want and what I don’t want, so I want to be in control of every aspect of every decision. I don’t do anything I don’t want to do, which is very important, because you don’t want to have regrets in this business.”
Questioned about what “girl power” is for her, Avril said, “It’s about being strong and being a chick and being able to speak your mind. I feel like I’ve had a girl power message in my music because a lot of my songs are empowering. They talk about being strong and not taking sh** from guys.”
