Avril Lavigne Visits TRL
Avril Lavigne stopped by MTV’s Total Request Live on Monday to promote her new DVD. Lavigne talked about recording her new album saying it’s been “going good” and later handed out tickets to the theater premiere of her DVD to fans outside. Read on for a transcript.
Damien: This is avril lavigne, everybody.
[ Cheers and applause ]
Damien: How are you? It’s good to see you. It’s been a while since you’ve
fwrased us — graced us with your presence here at “trl.”
Avril: Yeah, it’s been a while.
Damien: Where have you been?
Avril: I’ve been hanging out in L.A., Making — working on the next
record.
Damien: How’s that going for you, good?
Avril: It’s going good, yeah. Doing a lot of writing. I’ve been really
excited because I’ve been driving around and learning the city, and it’s
cool.
Damien: Thanks. Okay. We’ll be talking more with you after we take this
quick break, though
Damien: High, guys. Welcome back to “trl.” As you can see, if you’re
just tuning in, you might be going, what the hell is going on here? You
got tenacious D. Outside trap monday that little box out there. Of course,
they’re singing. Just rockin’ right there. Jack black and kyle out there.
We’re with avril lavigne. We got it talk about this new D.V.D. It comes
out tomorrow. What can we expect to see if on the dvd?
Avril: The dvd consists of back-stage footage, concert footage shot
in buffalo, and a bunch of photos. But the best part is the back-stage
footage. It’s just –
Damien: Crazy stuff?
Avril: Me being an idiot the whole time and just acting stupid and –
Damien: Anything embarrassing going on behind there?
Avril: Yeah, i got locked in a bathroom in the plane.
Damien: You did?
Avril: Yeah.
Damien: For how long? Is this until your dvd goes platinum?
[ Laughter ]
Avril: Yeah, right. That’s kind of funny. I got locked not bathroom
and I’m like pound on the door and they’re trying to open it. I don’t know.
Just — there’s a some funny stuff and a lot of immature stuff.
Damien: The screenings of your dvd in theaters across america tonight.
Are you nervous about how it’s going to be received?
Avril: I guess i never think about things as they’re happening. But
it’s pretty cool it’s going to be in theaters. I’m not nervous you i think
people will think it’s funny. It’s just normal stuff.
Damien: You’re having a good time.
Avril: Yeah.
Damien: You’re going to be heading outside. You’re going to give something
out to all your fans downstairs. Right?
Avril: Yes tickets for tonight’s premiere.
Damien: Very exciting. We’ll do that in just a bit.
