Avril Lavigne’s Complicated Road To Fame

Cliff Fabri, ’s Ex-Manager has written a long journal about the discovery of at the age of 15. The journal was created “with the intention to give readers an accurate depiction of ’s sudden rise in the Music Industry.”

It includes never-before-seen pictures of Avril practicing in her basement, in the studio and in the streets of New York City. He talks about how Arista had problems coming to terms that Avril was not going to sing country songs. Sure enough, when Fabri played a song called ‘Unwanted’ over his cellphone for John Hecker, boss of Hi-Fi Records in New York, which had been brought into the “Lavigne Project,” Hecker said the label was not going to change formats to accommodate “this rock song.”
