James Sullivan of the San Francisco Chronicle reviewed Avril Lavigne’s on Wednesday at San Jose’s HP Pavilion. He writes, “The crowd, overwhelmingly consisting of schoolgirls age 7 to 17 (many of them accompanied by a parent/chauffeur or two), could have listened to her whine all night, way past bedtime. There was whining, barking, rejoicing. Lavigne asserts herself. Heralded as the rough-and-tumble tomboy sticking one of the biggest forks in the fading teen-pop craze, Lavigne and her band already have a fairly professional — and conventional — stage show worked up.” Read more.
