Avril Lavigne’s Tour Ending Show Gets Cheeky
The Philadelphia Daily News reports that during Avril Lavigne’s last number at Saturday night’s tour-ending show at the First Union Center, members of her own band, plus Gob and Simple Plan, all danced out on stage in boxer shorts. Avril took advantage of the situation and tried to pull a few down and some cheeks were exposed, say spies, who add that Avril’s roadies went through the crowd handing out guitar picks as souvenirs.

May 18, 2003 – Contributed by Emily3219: New York’s Dunkirk High School recently won a performance at their school by Avril. Buffalo radio station, Kiss 98.5, held ‘High School Spirit’ which was a contest where over 50 western New York schools collected index cards which showed support for the troops over seas. Dunkirk school alone collected 949,257 index cards. All cards will be sent to US troops.

May 18, 2003 – Mathew Schwartz of The News Journal of Delaware reviewed Avril’s concert at Philadelphia’s First Union Spectrum on Saturday night. He wrote, “Though she amps up the punkitude for her live shows, she has as much Lilith Fair in her sound as she does Van’s Warped Tour. At her best, she brings a sound and style something like Natalie Merchant crossed with Alanis Morrisette.”
