With Avril Lavigne rocketing up the TRL charts, searches for the singer no doubt will continue to climb – though fans will have trouble with the name. For the month of April on pay-per search engine Overture.com, the term ‘Avril Lavigne’ was searched for 49,519 times, and had she had an easier to spell name, it would no doubt be much higher. Many of the searches dealt with her debut hit ‘Complicated’, with “Avril Lavigne Complicated” getting 2,059 queries. Look for Avril’s debut CD ‘Let Go’ to drop June 4th, where it will be hopelessly up against Eminem’s much anticipated ‘The Eminem Show’. The most frequent misspelling was Avril Lavinge with 1,184 searches.
