Baby Spice Goes It Alone
The Sun reports former Spice Girl Emma Bunton is releasing her new single ‘Free Me’ without a record label. The release is being financed by 19, headed by her old flame Simon Fuller. “None of the Spice Girls have had the kind of success they enjoyed when they were in the band,” a source close to Baby Spice explained. “The industry sees them as too much of a risk and, in the current climate of cutbacks, no one is prepared to spend big money. Emma was in talks with Universal but nothing came of it. It soon became clear the only way to put her song out was if Simon stepped in and released it himself.”
