Backstreet Boy Recalls ‘High’ Life

Pocholo Concepcion of the Philippine Daily Inquirer caught up with AJ McLean for a Q&A and asked the Backstreet Boys star what his lowest point was during the period he was abusing drugs and alcohol. “During the ‘Black and Blue’, tour I was drinking onstage,” the 28-year-old explained. “Between songs I was taking shots of tequila and Jack Daniel’s. I would do cocaine before going onstage. I was a mess. I’m on my third-and-a-half year of being sober now. My life has turned around 360 degrees.”
