Backstreet Boys fans were hopeful when early indications suggested that their comeback effort ‘Never Gone’ (293k) would top the album charts this week, but Coldplay’s first week sales drop of ‘X&Y’ (336k) wasn’t enough to do the trick, and a late surge by the Foo Fighters with ‘In Your Honor’ (320k) relegated the boy band for a #3 debut, according to Hits Daily Double. The three acts are close enough where it is possible the Billboard sales figures may provide a different order of finish though when announced tomorrow.
