Backstreet Boys Fan Battled Disability To Enjoy Life

Hawke Fracassa of The Detroit News profiled the life of Miss Bajek, a huge Backstreet Boys fan who died from sepsis and respiratory failure on Friday, June 28, 2002, at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. She was 18. “She was a very social, likable, kind and compassionate girl who loved the Backstreet Boys and loved being in the heart of things,” said her mother, Janice Bajek. “She also was fragile. Her life had great significance to anyone who knew her.” Fortunately, Miss was able to see her favorite band in 1999, when she was driven by ambulance from Children’s Hospital to the The Palace of Auburn Hills event.
