Backstreet Boys Fans Grateful For A Positive Review

Fans of the wrote in to the Staten Island Advance to thank Erin Semler for one of the few positive reviews the boy band have received on their ‘Never Gone’ comeback tour. “I just wanted to thank you for the most fair and open-minded review of the ‘Never Gone’ tour that I have read to date,” Diane Repash wrote. “Most of the reviews that I have read so far have either been outright cruel, or ambiguous where the reviewer will totally confuse me as to whether they liked the show or not. Even if they say a few nice things, there are always a few snide comments thrown in.”

“Even if they say a few nice things, there are always a few snide comments thrown in.” Snide comments? They’re called constructive criticism. Something I use on Hilary Duff comments.

Most critics I’ve read sound very biased and subjective. They seem to be against what they call “boy bands” and then they go on to criticize not the performances but the individuals. For example “old boybanders” or “the show was good but they are too old to be dancing” ” or in reference to Nick playing the guitar he’s TRYING TO BE A ROCKER….LOL he plays the guitar and he’s trying to be a rocker, the man can’t win..stupid comments that have nothing to do with the talent of the BOYS. I know the industry doesn’t want the whole boyband mania to start up again but the critics have just been downright cruel. BSB get bashed because many feel they were a boyband and that they were given a free ride. That’s silly. The guys worked hard for years and they have really good voices. Brian is constantly praised for his vocal abilities by the same critics that are bashing them, AJ as well. Actually the only boy that gets any criticism on his vocals is Nick and those are unjustified. A true critics review should be on the performance not on their age, or the fact that one is playing a guitar and TRYING TO BE A ROCKER.

Oh please everyone knows these flopping middle aged idiots are over. I mean it took them 3 months to even make it to platinum status! Their singles haven’t gotten any radio play at all. The only people going to these concerts are the sad, sad teenybopping little girls like galleta and badass4backstreet.

ummm… I went too, and I’m proud. I’m nearly 20 years old so I’m hardly a little girl. In fact, most of the people in the audience were between 17 and 22 years old, I’d say.

YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW ME HOW CAN YOU MAKE SUCH A NASTY COMMENT. AT THE CONCERT IN L.A.’, ‘THE AVERAGE AGE OF THE FANS WAS 20 -40 SO I THINK THE TEENYBOPPERS GREW UP AND THE OLDER ONES HAVE JUST BEEN FANS AND ARE STILL FANS. YOU SEEM YOUNG AND SILLY TO ME.

The BSB have gotten alot of good reviews for their “Never Gone” tour. I just read one from their concert the other day in Arizona. There have been reviews where they say the Backstreet Boys did a great job in one paragraph and then in the next paragraph they don’t like them. It seems as if they like the shows but don’t want to admit it. Fans email critics that have bad things to say, so they might as well send emails in to people who have good things to say.

I’ve seen that as well Smile, in one sentence they are praising them and the next’, ‘the critic is bashing them. I’m beginning to think that overall BSB is well liked but people are just embarrassed to say they like the BOYS. They are a singing group why be embarrassed to admit they are well liked….lol. I think people make way too much of entertainers..

I am 27, and I went to the concert this past Saturday here in Vegas. In fact, my sister who is a married 31 year old mother of two (with another on the way) went with me. The concert was great, the cd is great and just because they don’t sell a gazillion copies doesn’t mean they can’t stay around. As if they need more money, right? They are having fun with this now, and the fans are right there having just as good a time. So, if you want to waste your time making comments like this, do it somewhere else. Thank you.
