I heard, according to some press, MTV is bias, sometimes to some musicians/artists/celebrities in airing a particular music video. I think, there’s some truth to that, I notice, in the past years, they give to much airplay/publicity in airing some music videos of musicians/artists, like, DIDDY/J-LO. come on, mtv, don’t be biased to any musicians/celebrities, whether this particular musician is a part, or, not a part, in your shows, please? in that sense, you will not be branded bias. thank you!

They should just give it up. I mean, the Backstreet Boys aren’t selling because of lack of publicity, they’re not selling because their isn’t a market for their manufactured boyband trash anymore. The people who were buying their albums years ago, are buying Green Day today. It was a huge mistake for them to attempt to make a comeback, no boyband of the 90’s will ever be able to relive their past glory.

I don’t find that surprising, MTV has always played music videos that were more “in” and popular, and sadly boy bands just aren’t the most popular thing anymore. But I don’t think that’s the best reason to not play their music videos, they should give it a chance.

I’m trying not to laugh my ass off since this is coming from a Britney fan’, ‘An actually they are doing well and in Canada they sold better than Green Day and they sold better that Britney. I’m not trying to start a war but you have the nerve to call BSB manufactured when you like Britney she’s the most manufactured popstar EVER! And at least BSB sing LIVE and have talent. I’m not hating on Britney cause I actually admit her song Shadow on In the Zone isn’t that bad.

I’m a BSB fan but I think this is ridiculous. TRL doesn’t play their video because it doesn’t get enough votes, so maybe people should vote instead of trying to organize a protest that will go nowhere.

boy bands? they play fallout boy, reliant k, click 5, gc, simple plan..’, ‘are those not sugary boy bands?… backstreet are a male vocal harmony group. and since there are no more nsyncs, 98s’…and so on…they are the only ones. thereby, eliminating whatever ‘boyband’ stigma has been left upon them. they are artists. just like any other artist, and they deserve airplay. MTV has no right to decide what the nation should be in tune to. why not just succumb to communism, where *everything* we do is controlled? they don’t seem to be too concerned with as many rappers after rappers that are coming out of the woodworks to release the same nonsense..’i got g’s…i got chrome, *****es, money n mo’…..they don’t seem one bit concerned with the teenybopping boybands of the 2000’s who sing hooks and melodies of their pathetic existance in high school…..why so concerned that backstreet will bring back a resurgance of sugary teen pop…? the ‘pop’ these teens are focused on now are the two previous examples I mentioned of ‘rock’ and rap. backstreet are in the minority when it comes to their one else is making music like theirs at this point in time…so why so threatened? it’s bullsh**. and if this little rumor about MTV is true, they must be stopped.

that’s what i’ve been telling backstreet fans, but they’re stubborn.’, ‘thing is..we can’t compete with Hilary Duff fans. they’re teens..trl is their life. just like how trl was the focus of most backstreet fans after-school activities back in the day. I don’t really vote..because I don’t really care. numbers aren’t important anymore. but if MTV really is up to something, then I’m all for their little protest. *IF*…

um, okay’, ‘You were the one that said “sugary boy band,” not me. So I don’t really understand why you are acting defensive over my comment that you are highly misinterpreting.

  8. Smile says:

The guys actually know about the MTV protest. A fan says she told them at the soundcheck. They seemed to be surprised except for Brian because he heard about it through Leighanne. They said they will be in Rome that day but they would be watching to see was goes down. lol. The Backstreet Boys are doing well. They aren’t doing as well as before their break, but they are still selling plenty. They have 3 million records sold and counting. They are definitely going to make 5 million, and there’s a chance they will reach 10 million. That’s pretty good.

  9. SkItTleZzZ_n_DeLiLah says:

i am not acting defensive over your comment. I was ..’, ‘stating my opinion on this whole mess that’s going on right now. I understand what you stated in your comment. the only thing that I took you up on was your ‘boy band’ comment. and ‘sugary boy band’ was in reflection of the ‘bands’ I listed. not backstreet. so don’t misinterpret *me*, dude.

  10. jazzprofounder says:

well I didn’t know that, so of course I was going to misinterpret you’, ‘And I didn’t know any of the bands you mentioned except the BSB’s. You could have at least explained why the term “boy band” equates to “sugary boy band,” because I didn’t have any idea what you were talking about or what your point was!

and just because I said “boy band” doesn’t mean I was referring to just BSB…’, ‘And I know that BSB is not a “boy band,” they are now doing what they want to do without being cheesy or predictable, or doing the music that’s considered “bubblegum”. I mean jeez, I have their album, Smile and me talk about them all the time, so what’s the problem?

  11. SkItTleZzZ_n_DeLiLah says:

lol, sorry, man. I figured you’d know what I was talking about.’, ”boy band’ has been the equivalent to sugary pop music sung by guys in a group since the dawn of them. that’s just the way it is. people use it as an insult when referring to groups like backstreet, nsync…etc. anyways, that’s the general aspect of it. that’s the negative. to me, it’s exactly as it states. a band of boys. but very few people seem to look at it that way. what I meant by naming fallout boy, click 5 etc.. was they are the new breed of ‘boy band’. with their mostly sugary lyrics and sweet faces. I was just giving an example of the new genre of teen pop that MTV is advertising.
