The world-famous pop group, Backstreet Boys, are mentioned in the latest issue of ‘Teen People’ magazine. Since it is ‘Teen People’s’ fifth anniversary, they take out old issues from past years, and share their thoughts on them. The little bit is called “Blast From the Past”, and the itty bitty articles can be found every month on the letters from readers page. Read on for what the editors have to say about their August 1998 issue, featuring BSB on the cover.
“When we put Backstreet Boys on the August 1998 cover, they were blowing up the airwaves with hot pop tracks and hitting the road on a major U.S. tour. Now, it’s been almost three years since their last album, ‘Black & Blue’, dropped–and though the boy-band bubble has burst, we’re not embarrassed to admit we still have a soft spot for the fab five. Here’s an update: Kevin starred as Billy Flynn in the Broadway musical, ‘Chicago’; Nick dropped a solo joint; Brian does charity events for the MusiCares Foundation; Howie heads the Dorough Lupus Foundation; and A.J., after spending time in rehab for alcohol addiction, continues to stay sober.”
Nick was also mentioned elswhere in the mag, which states that: “The latest pop star to go Hollywood is Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, who’s kicking off his film career with the spooky indie ‘The Hollow’ next year. It’s not his first acting gig–Nick’s already been on NBC’s ‘American Dreams’, which has scored Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, and Mark McGrath as guests for this season.” This is mentioned in the magazine’s section, ‘Wheelin’ & Dealin’.
The August 2003 issue of ‘Teen People’ is now on news stands everywhere.
