BackstreetNews Yahoo Group reports that songwriter Linda Thompson won an a BMI Award for ‘Drowning’ by the Backstreet Boys at the 51st annual BMI Pop Awards on Tuesday (May 13) in Beverly Hills, California. The annual BMI Pop Awards is an invitation-only event that recognizes the most performed songs of the past year. BMI Citations of Achievement were presented to the writers and publishers of the 50 top songs.
