Being In *NSYNC Didn’t Favor Joey Fatone For ‘Rent’

Marc S. Malkin of New York Magazine spoke with *NSYNC star Joey Fatone on his role in ‘Rent’. Asked if being in *NSYNC meant he was just handed the role, Fatone responded, “No. First I auditioned for Roger’s part. I told them it was too high for my range, and they were like, “No big deal, let’s just do it.” So I sang for them, and then they said, ‘Can you audition for Mark?’”
