Being Kylie Minogue’s Sister A Mixed Bag For Dannii

Dannii Minogue did a Q&A with Top of the Pops where she was asked to be honest about whether it is a help or hindrance being Kylie Minogue’s sister. “[laughs] It’s really hard for me to be objective as to whether it’s bad for me to have the surname ‘Minogue’,” she said. “In some instances it’s great and in others it’s bad. Everyone wants to be accepted on their own merit. It was really difficult when I first came to the UK. People were negative about me, claiming I was trying to ride on my sister’s success. But, it’s been over a decade that I’ve had a presence at the top of the charts and I think people are more accepting of me now. It’s getting easier that’s for sure!”
